School Management and Vision
"Hitch your wagon to a star!"

This is the phrase of our school anthem's last stanza, cited from the poem of the great American philosopher and poet, Ralph Waldo Emerson. This phrase symbolizes our school spirit, since its founding to pursue a dream and realize the ideal world with adamant will; just like the American pioneers who explored the wilderness of the unknown on the horse back. This spirit has been passed down from student to student since its foundation 38 years ago.
Under the mottoes of our school, “Ambition, Solidarity", and "Commitment to pursue high academic and extracurricular activity achievements”, students are full of liveliness and energy and lead really active school lives.  They have achieved many high academic successes and extracurricular goals such as in sports and cultural events.
Located on a small hill, the majority of the students climb up and down over 100 stairs every day to commute to school.

Science Course
This course was established in 2004. The aim of this course is to foster students who will become the researchers and scientists. They will contribute to the development of Science and solve the problems of the world with the power of science. To achieve this goal, this course provides a variety of lessons and programs which inspire and interest students from all over Miyazaki Prefecture who have a strong interest in science. Here are a few examples of our fascinating programs; they learn three subjects of science, biology, chemistry, physics, by the best science teachers from Miyazaki Prefecture.  They do authentic research and take part in various contests in Japan and abroad, in 2017 one girl student took part in the international contest held in China and made a presentation on snails. The students also have astronomical observatory workshop, marine workshop, where they took a boat trip to Yakushima, which is designated as World heritage site, and do research on the mechanics of the engine and other machines of the ship ,and do field work on the plants and geology of Yakushima island. They also have science international exchange program with Thai and Taiwanese students. They did science experiments and had a discussion on each other's research with them. They are strongly connected by their enthusiastic interest in science, so their bond is very strong.
After graduation all of them go on to higher education to achieve their dreams. This Science course is the only and most prominent science course in Miyazaki Prefecture.

The aim of Science course is :
(1)To encourage students to learn, think, and solve problems through activities in "science research."
(2)To acquire logical and many-sided views through a variety of workshops and scientific experiments.
(3)To learn and understand methods of surveys, experiments, and observations through lectures and seminars by teachers and outside instructors.
(4)To improve English proficiency by learning science in English through debate, presentation and discussion.
